Competition Terms and Conditions

1. The Promoter

The promoter of these competitions is Aysha Al-Safar, trading as Equi Competitions, a sole trader whose business address is at Brightside, Shay Lane, Hale Barns, WA15 8UE (the “Promoter”, “we”, “our” or “us”).

2. These Terms

2.1 These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to every competition listed on our website at equicompetitions.co.uk (the “Website”).

2.2 Every competition is a skill-based prize competition. An entry fee is payable for each paid entry. Because our competitions use a multiple-choice question, a free entry route is also available for every competition — see Section 4.

2.3 To be entered into the draw, an entrant must correctly answer the multiple-choice question set for that competition (the “Competition Question”). Entrants who answer incorrectly are not charged and are not entered into the draw.

2.4 By purchasing an entry, submitting a free postal entry, or otherwise entering a competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

3. How to Enter (Paid Entry)

3.1 Each competition displays its own opening date, closing date, ticket price, maximum number of tickets, prize, and Competition Question. All times are UK local time.

3.2 To enter, visit the relevant competition page, choose the number of tickets you wish to purchase, answer the Competition Question, provide your email address, and complete payment.

3.3 If you answer the Competition Question incorrectly, your payment will not be taken and you will not be entered into the draw. You are welcome to try again with a different answer.

3.4 Once payment is confirmed, you will be allocated a sequential ticket number (or numbers, if you purchased more than one entry) for that competition. Your ticket number(s) will be confirmed to the email address you provided.

3.5 We reserve the right to close a competition early once its maximum ticket number is reached, or where reasonably necessary for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We will not extend a closing date simply to sell more entries.

3.6 All entry fees are payable in UK pounds sterling (GBP).

4. Free Postal Entry Route

4.1 You may enter any competition free of charge, as an alternative to a paid entry, by post.

4.2 To make a free entry, send a postcard or letter to: Equi Competitions, Brightside, Shay Lane, Hale Barns, WA15 8UE, including:

(a) your full name; (b) your postal address; (c) a contact telephone number and email address; (d) the exact name of the competition you are entering, as shown on the Website; and (e) your answer to that competition’s Competition Question.

4.3 Each free entry must be sent in a separate envelope. Bulk entries received in a single envelope will only be counted as one entry. Entries must be handwritten; photocopies, mechanically reproduced or computer-generated entries will not be accepted.

4.4 Free entries must be received before the competition’s closing date, and in any event no later than 3 days before that date, to allow time for processing. We cannot guarantee that entries received after this point will be processed in time. If a competition reaches its maximum ticket number before your free entry is processed, it will not be included in that draw.

4.5 Free entries carry the same chance of winning as a paid entry for one ticket. We do not acknowledge receipt of postal entries or confirm whether your answer was correct.

5. Eligibility

5.1 Competitions are open only to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over, except: (a) our employees; (b) employees of our agents or suppliers professionally connected with a competition; or (c) members of the immediate family or household of (a) or (b).

5.2 By entering, you confirm you are eligible to enter and to claim any prize you may win. We may ask you to provide proof of your age, identity or eligibility, and may disqualify you if you do not provide this within a reasonable time.

5.3 We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that we reasonably believe was submitted fraudulently, or in a way that undermines the fairness of a competition (for example, automated or bulk entries submitted in breach of these Terms).

6. Choosing a Winner

6.1 Once a competition closes (either because it has sold out or reached its closing date), every valid entrant who correctly answered the Competition Question is entered into the draw — each ticket number is one entry, so purchasing multiple tickets increases your number of chances proportionately.

6.2 The winning ticket is selected using a cryptographically secure random number generator. If the number selected does not correspond to a sold ticket, the process is repeated until a valid winning entry is found. A record of the random seed used and the total number of entries at the time of the draw is kept for audit purposes.

6.3 The draw will take place as soon as reasonably practicable after a competition closes, and in any event within 14 days.

7. The Prize

7.1 The prize for each competition is described on the relevant competition page and is correct to the best of our knowledge as at the date the competition opened.

7.2 Prizes are subject to availability. If a prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to substitute it with a prize of equal or greater value, or a cash alternative.

7.3 Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless we expressly offer a cash alternative for that competition.

8. Winner Notification and Claiming the Prize

8.1 The winner will be notified using the email address (and, where provided, telephone number) submitted with their entry. It is your responsibility to ensure these details are accurate.

8.2 The winner must respond to claim their prize within 30 days of notification. If we are unable to contact the winner, or the prize is not claimed within this period, we reserve the right to offer the prize to another eligible entrant selected by the same random draw process, or otherwise dispose of the prize at our discretion.

8.3 We publish the winning ticket number and a partially masked version of the winner’s email address on the relevant competition page, along with details of the prize, for the purpose of demonstrating that a valid draw took place. 9. Refunds

9.1 If you answer the Competition Question incorrectly, you are never charged — this is enforced automatically before any payment is taken.

9.2 Other than as set out in clause 9.1 or as required by law, all entry fees are final and non-refundable once an entry has been successfully submitted and payment taken, including where an entrant is later found to be ineligible or is disqualified under these Terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to this, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your participation in a competition. Your statutory rights are not affected.

11. Data Protection

We process personal data submitted with your entry (such as your email address) in order to administer the competition, allocate ticket numbers, and contact winners, in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We do not sell your personal data.

12. General

12.1 We may amend these Terms from time to time. The version published on the Website at the time you enter a competition applies to that entry.

12.2 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
